Thanks to the strong
support of the U.S. Congress and the leadership
of President John F. Kennedy, the U.S. finally
lifts its embargo on arms sales to Israel. The
U.S. Congress also supports direct negotiations
between Israel and her neighbors even as border
wars and terrorism become part of everyday life
in the region.
Congress is often at
odds with the Administration over Israels
policy of retaliation for attacks against Israel
and her citizens.
