Single Agenda
The sole mission of the America-Israel Friendship League (AIFL) is to "promote, foster and develop mutual friendship and understanding between the people of the United States of America, the people of the State of Israel, and of other countries of the world."(AIFL Certificate of Incorporation, March 29, 1971)

Non Sectarian
AIFL reaches out to all Americans and Israelis. The League's Leadership Missions, Global Education exchanges, and other programs attract participants reflecting the diversity of both nations. As such we forge alliances that transcend religious, ethnic, political and geographic boundaries. In the U.S., the League has begun to reach out to specific communities through programs such as the Hispanic/Israel Young Professional Program (HIYPP).

Non-Partisan
AIFL is freely joined by state attorneys general, legislators and government officials of all parties. No other organization working to strengthen ties between Americans and Israelis has the potential to recruit this level of membership.

Grassroots Focus
AIFL does not advocate for Israel through legislative appeal or pressure. The League appeals instead to the curiosity and compassion of ordinary citizens. Our programs foster personal connections through shared experience, building friendships not just between governments, but people-friendships that last. Even the League's high-level Leadership Delegations to Israel (involving American leaders in education, business, science, faith and culture, as well as state and local politicians) aim primarily to stimulate grassroots engagement with Israel in participants' home communities.

Highlights Shared Values
AIFL draws upon the wealth of values and heritage that Americans and Israelis share. The League's People-to-People programs celebrate our common virtues as the basis of a lasting friendship between the people of both nations.
