Executive Committee
Chair: Dr. Charlotte K. Frank
The Executive Committee directs the vision of the AIFL and
consists of individuals who chair one of AIFL's standing committees.
The Executive Committee has the mandate to put into effect
all of the authority provided by the Board of Directors.
AIFL Standing Committees:
Citizenship Through Sports
Chair: Dr. June B. Dempsey
The ‘Citizenship Through Sports’ Committee oversees
the development and implementation of AIFL’s U.S.-
Israel ‘Citizenship Through Sports’ program. In
addition to members of the AIFL Board of Directors, this committee
consists of representatives of the National Collegiate Athletic
Association, National
Federation of State High School Associations, the New York
City Sports Commission, the Ministry of Education, Culture
and Sports of the State of Israel, the Academic Sport Association
of Israel, and renowned athletes.
Lecture Series
Chair: Prof. Michael Curtis
The Lecture Series Committee assists in the recommendation
of American and Israeli experts in the areas of business,
science, industry, government, religion, education and media
to participate in AIFL’s Lecture Series.
Marketing and Communications
Chair: Richard A. Robbins
The Marketing and Communications Committee develops AIFL’s
marketing and communications strategy. It conducts periodic
reviews of AIFL’s marketing strategy and recommends revisions
based on current trends. Additionally, the committee pays
special attention to AIFL’s positioning in the public
relations arena, and assists the Director of Marketing and
Communications with the development of unique features to
highlight the organization’s ongoing activities.
Missions
Chair: Hon. Robert Abrams
The Delegations Committee is responsible for setting the guidelines
and policies for AIFL’s Leadership Delegations to Israel.
In addition, this committee is responsible for reviewing potential
delegation candidates and evaluating the effectiveness of each
program.
Partners for Global Education
Chair: Dr. Charlotte K. Frank
The mission of the Partners for Global Education committee
is to enhance the Youth Ambassadors Student Exchange Program,
as well as to develop new educational initiatives to further
U.S. and Israeli educational cooperation and exchanges. In
doing so, the committee hopes to raise AIFL’s involvement
in the areas of global education, cultural diversity, understanding,
rights of minorities, and the use of technology in education
in both countries
Regional Development
Chair: Carol Karsch
The Regional Development Committee oversees AIFL’s chapter
development. Committee members also include individuals from
key states in the Western Region of the United States who
are dedicated to building and maintaining new chapters of
the AIFL across the United States.
Young Leadership
Chair: Yariv Ben-Ari
The Young Leadership committee organizes programs and activities
targeted to members 24 - 45 with the goal of developing
greater involvement among the younger generation while cultivating
the future leaders of the AIFL.
